Starting on the aft head
The aft head is getting a full remodel. First step was stripping and repainting the sole.
The aft head is next in line for a big remodel. The plan is built-in storage and a small sink, which means a lot of building and moving things around. Above all I want the space to be low-maintenance and easy to clean, because a head on a boat that’s lived on full time gets used hard.
The sole first
Before any of that, I stripped the sole (the floor) and put down one coat of Pettit EZ Bilge. I’m holding off on more coats until the remodel is done, since there’s no point finishing a floor I’m about to kneel on, drop tools on, and drag lumber across.
For the final coats I’m leaning toward a fine “sugar” non-skid grit mixed in. Enough grip for wet feet in a seaway, but still easy to wipe down.
More when the building starts.
